| The orthopaedic education center is designed to harmonize with the world headquarters medical campus. The center offers an internationally recognized faculty and a personalized learning process that focuses on skill development with simulated models in a state of the art facility. The building is organized around a central two story atrium that visually connects to the campus and integrates exhibition, lounge and pre-function spaces. Other building highlights include a signature tiered lecture hall, a central medical research library, faculty offices, reconfigurable multipurpose rooms and a separate bioskills suite that includes a surgical simulation lab, a sawbones lab and required support functions organized around a dedicated bioskills classroom.
Lighting solutions was to be unique and creative with standard lighting products, easily maintainable, and provide the necessary illumination requirements with variable controls to transform the spaces for a variety of uses. The lighting design goal was to create a series of distinct spaces with interesting character, and enhance the architectural forms and circulation flow.
